An MBA in PR Industry

It was May 5, 2008 when I joined this company. I must confess, I was totally unaware of the industry till May4. I went through an orientation program for a week in my company's headquarter in Mumbai and then and there I started to feel the importance of a PR person in the image and ultimately profitability of a certain organisation. After almost 7 months, I m a part of the industry, finding myself very fortunate to be a part of such a human organisation. It is not often that an MBA joins a PR agency at the very initial stage of his carrer. But attraction of handling financial clients with direct contact with the top management in banks and other financial companies has made me think that this sector is a goood option for newly MBAs, especialy in the current scenario.
It is a win win situation for both- the MBA graduate as well as the PR agency. When he handles a banking/financial client, the agency has always a bonus of being assured that the executive is able to understand the client with ease. The client is more comfortable as he finds it easy to convey the message to its audience through the agency. The positioning of the organisation to its target market is discussed in more informed environment. and many more reasons can be counted for the same.
I, as an MBA, am feeling good (read great) to be in the PR industry, especially in an agency which is one of the fastest, best and most respected in the industry.
